Transform Your Tank with Ultra Grade Color on the Sand Bed
Looking for an LPS coral that rewards a close look? This Ultra Acanthophyllia is a single solitary polyp in deep violet, ribbed with orange pink bands that run out from a sky blue center. Ultra grade pieces carry stronger color and sharper contrast than a standard Acanthophyllia, and no two look the same.
Acanthophyllia (Acanthophyllia deshayesiana) grow as one large, fleshy polyp rather than a colony, so this is a piece you place once and leave on the sand bed or a low, flat spot in the rockwork. They grow slowly and suit reefers with some LPS experience. Keep it under low to moderate lighting with low to moderate flow, and target feed meaty foods once or twice a week to keep it full and colored up. At night it can extend sweeper tentacles, so give it room from its neighbors.
