Description

Neon Aussie Heliofungia Long Tentacle Plate Coral

Transform Your Tank with a Living, Glowing Centerpiece

Looking for a showstopper unlike anything else... The Neon Aussie Heliofungia is one of the most visually arresting plate corals available to reef keepers today. Sourced from Australian waters renowned for producing some of the most intensely colored specimens on the planet, this Heliofungia delivers sweeping, neon-tipped tentacles that sway with the current and command attention from across the room. Its electric coloration — typically vivid greens, blues, and contrasting tips — makes it a rare find that serious collectors actively seek out.

Unlike most stony corals, the Heliofungia is a free-living, solitary specimen — it rests unattached on the sandbed and moves slowly over time, giving it a surprisingly dynamic personality for a coral. It can grow to impressive dinner-plate proportions as it matures, making it an increasingly dramatic long-term addition to any saltwater aquarium. When fed meaty foods regularly, it rewards you with rapid growth and a fully extended, almost hypnotic display that never gets old.

QUICK STATS & CARE GUIDE

  • Common Name: Neon Aussie Long Tentacle Plate Coral
  • Current Size: Varies — contact us for available sizing; we stock a range of small to large specimens
  • Care Level: Moderate — ideal for intermediate to experienced reef keepers
  • Temperament: Semi-aggressive — long tentacles can sting neighboring corals; provide 6–8 inches of clearance
  • Diet: Photosynthetic (requires moderate to high lighting); supplement with meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, krill, or small marine pellets 2–3x weekly for best growth
  • Reef Safe: With caution — keep away from adjacent corals due to sweeper tentacle reach
  • Water Conditions: Temp 76–80°F | Salinity 1.025–1.026 | pH 8.1–8.3 | dKH 8–12 | Ca 400–450 ppm | Mg 1250–1350 ppm; moderate flow, moderate to high lighting; place on open sandbed — never on rock

WHY BUY FROM THE CORAL BOUTIQUE?

Every Heliofungia we ship has been ethically sourced from Australian aquaculture and collection operations held to strict sustainability standards, then quarantined and conditioned in our Miami facility until it is fully acclimated, actively extending its tentacles, and accepting target feedings. We never rush a specimen out the door — you receive a coral that is genuinely ready for your reef tank.
