Description

Splitting Banana Grail Torch

Typical needs for this coral type. Ask us if you're unsure.

Transform Your Tank with a Living Centerpiece Worth Coveting

Looking for the rarest torch coral money can buy? The Splitting Banana Grail Torch is one of the most sought-after Euphyllia in the hobby — distinguished by its rich, warm gold-to-chartreuse tentacles with bright, luminous tips that seem to glow under reef lighting. This is not a coral you stumble across. It earns its "Grail" designation for a reason, and the fact that this colony is actively splitting means you're acquiring multiplying value, not just a single showpiece.

Torch corals are renowned for their long, swaying tentacles that give any saltwater aquarium an almost hypnotic, flowing energy. As this specimen continues to split, you'll watch new heads emerge over time — a genuinely rewarding experience for intermediate and advanced reef keepers alike. Euphyllia also develop recognizable feeding responses and personality, making them one of the most engaging corals to keep in a home aquarium.

QUICK STATS & CARE GUIDE

  • Common Name: Splitting Banana Grail Torch Coral
  • Current Size: Multi-head splitting colony (contact us for current head count)
  • Care Level: Moderate (consistent water chemistry is essential)
  • Temperament: Semi-aggressive (sweeper tentacles extend at night — provide adequate spacing)
  • Diet: Photosynthetic; benefits from target feeding with meaty foods such as mysis or reef roids 1–2x weekly
  • Reef Safe: Yes, with caution (keep clear of neighboring corals)
  • Water Conditions: 72–78°F, salinity 1.025–1.026, pH 8.1–8.3, dKH 8–10, moderate lighting and moderate flow

WYSIWYG on Select Items

If this coral is in our WYSIWYG collection and has one in stock, the photos show the exact frag or colony that ships to you. Otherwise, the photos may be representative.

Shipping & Pickup

Coral orders ship Monday through Wednesday. We confirm a delivery day with you before your order goes out, and we will hold it if the weather is bad or a coral needs more time in quarantine.

Coral orders over $399 qualify for free shipping. Fish orders over $599 qualify for free shipping. Free same-day Miami pickup is available at 46 NW 36th St and is usually ready in 1–2 hours.

Live Arrival Guarantee

Eligible coral orders are covered by our Live Arrival Guarantee. Photograph the coral in its sealed bag before you open anything, then email that photo with your order number within two hours of delivery. Our team reviews every claim and gets you an answer within one business day.

Acclimation

For best results, acclimate slowly and place new corals in lower light and flow before moving them to their final position. Coral response can vary depending on tank stability, lighting, flow, and water parameters.

Photography

We photograph our corals in house, up close, so you can judge color, shape and polyp extension. For WYSIWYG listings with one in stock, the photographed coral is the exact coral that ships.
