Description

Red Australian Goniopora Colony

Typical needs for this coral type. Ask us if you're unsure.

Transform Your Tank with a Living Cascade of Crimson

Looking for a showpiece coral that turns heads... The Red Australian Goniopora is one of the most visually striking LPS corals available in the hobby, renowned for its dense, swaying polyp extension that gives the colony the appearance of a flowering underwater meadow. Australian-sourced Goniopora consistently outperform their Indo-Pacific counterparts in both coloration and long-term survivability, and a true red morph of this size is rarely available outside specialist retailers. This is not a coral you find at every shop — it's a centerpiece.

This colony-grade specimen offers immediate visual impact from the moment it's placed in your reef tank, with dozens of individual polyps that extend several inches under good flow and lighting. Goniopora are rewarding for aquarists who have moved beyond beginner corals — they respond visibly to water quality, feeding, and placement, making them an engaging long-term project. With stable parameters and targeted feeding, this colony will continue to grow and fill out, becoming more impressive season after season.

QUICK STATS & CARE GUIDE

  • Common Name: Red Australian Goniopora, Red Aussie Goni, Flower Pot Coral
  • Current Size: Colony (exact dimensions available on request — photograph reflects actual specimen)
  • Care Level: Intermediate to Advanced
  • Temperament: Semi-aggressive — sweeper polyps can reach neighboring corals; allow adequate spacing
  • Diet: Photosynthetic; benefits from regular target feeding with zooplankton, coral snow, or amino acid supplements
  • Reef Safe: Yes, with caution — maintain spacing from adjacent corals
  • Water Conditions: Temp 76–79°F | Salinity 1.025–1.026 | pH 8.1–8.3 | Alkalinity 8–10 dKH | Calcium 400–450 ppm | Moderate flow, moderate lighting

WHY BUY FROM THE CORAL BOUTIQUE?

Every specimen at The Coral Boutique is ethically sourced, individually quarantined, and carefully conditioned before it ever ships — so what arrives at your door is stable, acclimated, and ready to thrive. We don't ship until it's eating and settled, because your reef deserves nothing less.

WYSIWYG on Select Items

If this coral is in our WYSIWYG collection and has one in stock, the photos show the exact frag or colony that ships to you. Otherwise, the photos may be representative.

Shipping & Pickup

Coral orders ship Monday through Wednesday. We confirm a delivery day with you before your order goes out, and we will hold it if the weather is bad or a coral needs more time in quarantine.

Coral orders over $399 qualify for free shipping. Fish orders over $599 qualify for free shipping. Free same-day Miami pickup is available at 46 NW 36th St and is usually ready in 1–2 hours.

Live Arrival Guarantee

Eligible coral orders are covered by our Live Arrival Guarantee. Photograph the coral in its sealed bag before you open anything, then email that photo with your order number within two hours of delivery. Our team reviews every claim and gets you an answer within one business day.

Acclimation

For best results, acclimate slowly and place new corals in lower light and flow before moving them to their final position. Coral response can vary depending on tank stability, lighting, flow, and water parameters.

Photography

We photograph our corals in house, up close, so you can judge color, shape and polyp extension. For WYSIWYG listings with one in stock, the photographed coral is the exact coral that ships.
