Description

Purple Tile Goby

Transform Your Tank with a Living Jewel of Deep Reefs

Looking for something truly rare in your saltwater aquarium? The Purple Tile Goby (Hoplolatilus purpureus) is one of the most sought-after and seldom-seen species in the hobby — its rich violet and lavender tones are unlike anything else swimming through a reef tank. Found in deeper Indo-Pacific waters, this specimen rarely makes it into the trade, making each arrival at The Coral Boutique a genuine event for serious collectors.

Typically reaching 4–5 inches at maturity, the Purple Tile Goby is an active, curious species that spends its time darting gracefully near the substrate and hovering at the entrance to its burrow. It rewards patient aquarists with confident behavior and bold coloration that intensifies under quality reef lighting. Best kept in a species-appropriate setup with open sand beds and tight-fitting lids — this one is athletic and quick.

Live Arrival Guarantee

Eligible fish orders are covered by our Arrival Guarantee. If there’s an issue on arrival, email clear photos within 4 hours of delivery so our team can review and help. Failed delivery attempts, refused packages, or missed delivery windows may void coverage.

Acclimation

Acclimate fish carefully and introduce them into a stable, established saltwater aquarium. Match temperature and salinity slowly, keep lights low during introduction, and monitor behavior closely after release.

Photography

We photograph our fish under balanced, aquarium-safe lighting to accurately represent their true coloration and patterning. Our goal is to show how each fish will appear in a home reef or marine setup—not under overly blue or altered lighting.

Because fish are active and constantly moving, images are representative of the species and quality you can expect. Every fish is carefully selected for health, coloration, and temperament before shipping.
