Description

Indo Torch Fat Head Tiger

Typical needs for this coral type. Ask us if you're unsure.

Transform Your Tank with One of Reefkeeping's Most Coveted Torches

Looking for a torch coral that commands attention... The Indo Torch Fat Head Tiger is a standout even among premium Euphyllia variants. Its thick, club-tipped tentacles display bold, high-contrast striping that creates serious visual drama under reef lighting. This is not your everyday torch. The "Fat Head" designation refers to the distinctly oversized, swollen tentacle tips, while the "Tiger" pattern delivers rich banding that sets it apart from standard Indonesian imports. Collectors seek these out for good reason.

This coral has a slow, steady growth habit and a deeply satisfying presence in any saltwater aquarium: those flowing tentacles extend generously during the day and retract into a compact polyp head at night. It's a rewarding long-term centerpiece that grows in size and personality over time, and its sweeper tentacles mean it appreciates generous spacing from neighboring corals. Once settled and thriving, it's the kind of addition you'll build an entire reef tank layout around.

QUICK STATS & CARE GUIDE

  • Common Name: Indo Torch Fat Head Tiger (Euphyllia glabrescens)
  • Current Size: Single to multi-head polyp (varies by availability)
  • Care Level: Moderate
  • Temperament: Semi-aggressive (uses sweeper tentacles; provide ample spacing)
  • Diet: Photosynthetic; benefits from target feeding meaty foods (mysis, marine pellets) 1 to 2x per week
  • Reef Safe: With caution (keep clear of neighboring corals)
  • Water Conditions: 72 to 78°F | dKH 8 to 9.5 | pH 8.1 to 8.4 | sg 1.025 to 1.026 | moderate lighting and moderate flow

Every Indo Torch Fat Head Tiger we ship is ethically sourced, fully quarantined, and conditioned in our Miami facility until it's eating and extending confidently, so what arrives at your door is a specimen that's already proven it can thrive.

WYSIWYG on Select Items

If this coral is in our WYSIWYG collection and has one in stock, the photos show the exact frag or colony that ships to you. Otherwise, the photos may be representative.

Shipping & Pickup

Coral orders ship Monday through Wednesday. We confirm a delivery day with you before your order goes out, and we will hold it if the weather is bad or a coral needs more time in quarantine.

Coral orders over $399 qualify for free shipping. Fish orders over $599 qualify for free shipping. Free same-day Miami pickup is available at 46 NW 36th St and is usually ready in 1–2 hours.

Live Arrival Guarantee

Eligible coral orders are covered by our Live Arrival Guarantee. Photograph the coral in its sealed bag before you open anything, then email that photo with your order number within two hours of delivery. Our team reviews every claim and gets you an answer within one business day.

Acclimation

For best results, acclimate slowly and place new corals in lower light and flow before moving them to their final position. Coral response can vary depending on tank stability, lighting, flow, and water parameters.

Photography

We photograph our corals in house, up close, so you can judge color, shape and polyp extension. For WYSIWYG listings with one in stock, the photographed coral is the exact coral that ships.
