MicroBacter Purple M by Brightwell Aquatics introduces a powerful, shelf-stable blend of purple non-sulfur (PNSB) bacteria to your reef system. These live photosynthetic microbes thrive in both oxygen-rich and low-oxygen environments, making them effective in deep sand beds, refugiums, reactors, and even your main display.

By naturally breaking down excess nutrients and organic waste, Purple M helps maintain a cleaner, more balanced system while serving as a nutritious food source for corals, sponges, and other filter-feeding inverts. Use alongside MicroBacter7 and MicroBacter Clean for even greater nutrient control and microbial diversity.

Dosing Instructions

Shake well before use. For best results, use within 1 year of purchase. See packaging for detailed dosing instructions.

Medium to High-Nutrient Systems: Add 1.25 mL (1/4 capful) per US-gallon of aquarium water weekly for the first two weeks of use. Turn protein skimming and UV-sterilization off for 24 hours. Switch to "low-nutrient" dosage instructions below if the aquarium water quality has significantly improved.

Stable, Low-Nutrient Systems: 5 mL (1 capful) per 50 US-gallons (~2 drops per gallon) of aquarium water weekly. Turn protein skimming and UV-sterilization off for 24 hours.
