Description

Banana Torch Coral

Typical needs for this coral type. Ask us if you're unsure.

Transform Your Tank with Glowing, Flowing Golden Tentacles

Looking for a showstopper that earns second glances... The Banana Torch (*Euphyllia glabrescens*) is one of the most visually arresting LPS corals in the hobby — its long, swaying tentacles glow in rich golden-yellow tones that few other reef specimens can match. A standout in any mixed reef layout, this variety commands attention without competing for it. If you've been searching to buy Banana Torch online from a source you can trust, this is exactly what you're looking for.

Torch corals are famously rewarding to keep — they respond visibly to their environment, extending full and lush under stable conditions and pulling in tight when something's off, making them an excellent indicator of reef tank health. As they grow, individual heads can be fragged to expand your colony or trade with fellow enthusiasts. Their gentle, rhythmic sway under moderate flow gives any saltwater aquarium a sense of life and motion that's genuinely hard to replicate.

QUICK STATS & CARE GUIDE

  • Common Name: Banana Torch Coral
  • Current Size: Single to multi-head colony (varies by availability)
  • Care Level: Moderate
  • Temperament: Semi-aggressive (sweeper tentacles can sting neighboring corals — allow adequate spacing)
  • Diet: Photosynthetic; benefits from occasional target feeding of meaty foods such as mysis or coral-specific blends
  • Reef Safe: Yes (with caution — maintain distance from adjacent corals)
  • Water Conditions: 72–78°F, salinity 1.025–1.026, pH 8.1–8.4, dKH 8–12; moderate lighting and moderate flow

WHY BUY FROM THE CORAL BOUTIQUE?

Every specimen from The Coral Boutique is ethically sourced, fully quarantined, and conditioned in our systems until it's eating well and thriving before it ever ships to you. We don't cut corners on live marine specimens — your confidence and your reef's health depend on it.

WYSIWYG on Select Items

If this coral is in our WYSIWYG collection and has one in stock, the photos show the exact frag or colony that ships to you. Otherwise, the photos may be representative.

Shipping & Pickup

Coral orders ship Monday through Wednesday. We confirm a delivery day with you before your order goes out, and we will hold it if the weather is bad or a coral needs more time in quarantine.

Coral orders over $399 qualify for free shipping. Fish orders over $599 qualify for free shipping. Free same-day Miami pickup is available at 46 NW 36th St and is usually ready in 1–2 hours.

Live Arrival Guarantee

Eligible coral orders are covered by our Live Arrival Guarantee. Photograph the coral in its sealed bag before you open anything, then email that photo with your order number within two hours of delivery. Our team reviews every claim and gets you an answer within one business day.

Acclimation

For best results, acclimate slowly and place new corals in lower light and flow before moving them to their final position. Coral response can vary depending on tank stability, lighting, flow, and water parameters.

Photography

We photograph our corals in house, up close, so you can judge color, shape and polyp extension. For WYSIWYG listings with one in stock, the photographed coral is the exact coral that ships.
