Reef Ready groups our corals and fish priced from $50 to $199, the range where most tanks start. Coral frags and colonies share it with saltwater fish such as tangs and wrasses, so it suits a first piece as well as the next few additions to a tank that's already running. A few examples: a Gold X Lightning Maroon Clown, a Scopas Tang, a Firework Clove Polyp colony and a Hologram Hammer single head.
The name is a price tier, and difficulty varies a lot inside it. A Rhodactis mushroom or an Australian Duncan usually does fine in a newer tank. A Copperband Butterfly sits in the same price range but does better in a mature, stable system, and some take a while to accept prepared food. If this is your first reef, start with our Beginner Friendly Corals.
The name also doesn't mean every animal here is reef safe, so check tankmates before you buy.
- Some Coral Beauties and other dwarf angels nip at LPS and clam mantles.
- Two tangs with the same body shape often fight. Plan your tang mix before the first one goes in, and compare options in our Tangs collection.
These corals and fish are quarantined before we sell them, just like our higher priced pieces. Livestock ships Monday through Thursday. We confirm a delivery day with you before your order goes out. If something goes wrong in transit, our Live Arrival Guarantee explains what to do. If you're in Miami, you can also pick up at our Design District showroom.
The next tier up is Signature, which runs from $200 to $499.
