Description

Venustus Pygmy Angel (Medium)

Transform Your Tank with a Jewel-Toned Pygmy That Commands Attention

Looking for a rare pygmy angel that truly stands out... The Venustus Pygmy Angel (Centropyge venusta) is one of the most visually striking and sought-after dwarf angels in the hobby. Its deep sapphire-blue posterior, golden-orange face, and vivid purple-edged scales create a color combination that simply doesn't exist in most reef tanks. Availability is limited — this is not a species you'll find at your local chain store, and serious collectors know exactly how rare a quality specimen can be.

At medium size, this individual is well past the fragile juvenile stage and actively exploring its environment with the bold, curious personality pygmy angels are known for. Expect it to weave confidently through rockwork, claim a favorite cave, and develop a real presence in your saltwater aquarium. Rewarding to keep and endlessly entertaining to watch, the Venustus is a centerpiece-worthy addition that doesn't require a massive system to shine.

WHY BUY FROM THE CORAL BOUTIQUE?

Every specimen we ship from The Coral Boutique is ethically sourced, fully quarantined, and conditioned in our facility until it is eating confidently and showing zero signs of stress. We do not ship until we're certain your new marine specimen is healthy, acclimated, and ready to thrive in your reef tank.

Fish Health

Our fish are selected with appearance, behavior, and feeding response in mind before being listed. We aim to offer healthy, alert specimens for established saltwater systems.

Compatibility

Please confirm this fish is compatible with your tank size, current livestock, temperament needs, and reef goals before ordering. If you are unsure, contact us before checkout and we’ll help you choose responsibly.

Shipping & Pickup

Eligible fish orders ship Monday through Thursday via FedEx Priority Overnight. Orders placed by 2 PM EST may ship same day when weather and availability allow.

Fish orders over $599 qualify for free shipping. Coral orders over $399 qualify for free shipping. Free same-day Miami pickup is available at 46 NW 36th St and is usually ready in 1–2 hours.

Live Arrival Guarantee

Eligible livestock orders are covered by our Live Arrival Guarantee. Photograph the animal in its sealed bag before you open anything, then email that photo with your order number within two hours of delivery. Our team reviews every claim and gets you an answer within one business day. Failed delivery attempts, refused packages, or missed delivery windows may void coverage.

Acclimation

Acclimate fish carefully and introduce them into a stable, established saltwater aquarium. Match temperature and salinity slowly, keep lights low during introduction, and monitor behavior closely after release.

Photography

We photograph our fish under balanced, aquarium-safe lighting to accurately represent their true coloration and patterning. Our goal is to show how each fish will appear in a home reef or marine setup—not under overly blue or altered lighting.

Because fish are active and constantly moving, images are representative of the species and quality you can expect. Every fish is carefully selected for health, coloration, and temperament before shipping.

Healthy Fish Start With Careful Selection.
